Authentic Unlimited is a dynamic bluegrass band that blends rich harmonies with skillful instrumentation to create a sound that is both timeless and innovative. Comprised of seasoned musicians, including former members of the legendary Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, the band brings a deep-rooted passion for traditional bluegrass, infused with fresh energy.

Having earned recognition with IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) awards, IBMA nominations, and Dove Awards nominations, the band’s talent and dedication to their craft is widely celebrated in the bluegrass community. Their heartfelt lyrics and soulful melodies resonate with audiences, offering an authentic musical experience that speaks to both old and new generations of bluegrass fans. With the release of their latest album So Much for Forever and Gospel Sessions Vol. 2, Authentic Unlimited continues to leave a lasting impact on the bluegrass scene.

Jerry Cole, Eli Johnston, and Stephen Burwell were members of Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver until Lawson announced his retirement. With Lawson’s blessing and guidance, the three decided to pick up the torch and carry it forward. The roster was made complete with the addition of sensational vocalist John Meador and mandolin extraordinaire Jesse Brock – though the current lineup includes Colton Baker on guitar in place of Meador. The name of the band was suggested by Doyle Lawson himself. Because several band members were songwriters, they had unlimited material – and since they were committed to playing authentic bluegrass music, “Authentic Unlimited” emerged as their band name. Their initials, AU, also happen to be the chemical symbol for gold, representing what they strive to be: the gold standard for bluegrass music.

In 2023, Authentic Unlimited made their first appearance on the Grand Ole Opry and were named IBMA Vocal Group of the Year. In 2024, the band took home three IBMA Bluegrass Music Awards, including Vocal Group of the Year, and Jesse Brock received Mandolin Player of the Year.
