Blue Highway Fest is excited to announce a new event for Blue Highway Fest 2024 …

**Blue Highway Fest – Rising Stars Challenge!**

Artists and bands everywhere are invited to be a part of Blue Highway Fest – Rising Stars Challenge by submitting an online application that includes 2 video performances (YouTube links) of your songs (1 cover and 1 original).

Blue Highway Fest YouTube Channel will showcase your performances with seven (7) of eight (8) finalists chosen by a panel of judges. The remaining finalist will be chosen by online voting as the “People’s Choice”.

Deadline for applications with video links is midnight September 1st, 2024.

The 8 finalists will be announced at noon on September 15, 2024.

All 8 finalists will participate in the 1st round elimination to take place on October 9, with the 4 semi-finalists to participate in the 2nd elimination round later that night.

The 2 finalists will participate
in the 3rd elimination round on the night of October 10th.

The winner will be announced on October 11th and will perform on the Bullitt Park stage at Blue Highway Fest 2024 on October 12th.

**The winner of Blue Highway Fest 2024 – Rising Stars Challenge will receive:**

(1) Recording session at Hat Creek Recording in Jonesborough, TN.

(2) Coaching by Wayne Taylor: Virginia Country Music Hall of Fame Member, singer/songwriter of Lonesome Pine and founding member of Blue Highway (IBMA Vocal Group of the Year/Instrumental Group of the Year)

(3) National release by Turnberry Records of single from recording session at Hat Creek Recording in Jonesborough, TN.

(4) Performance at The Station Inn in Nashville, TN.

(5) Performance at The Down Home in Johnson City, TN.

(6) Performance on main stage at Blue Highway Fest 2024.

Important Notes:

All participants must be available for a live remote rehearsal before Blue Highway Fest 2024 if you are one of the eight finalists chosen to perform live at Blue Highway Fest 2024.

Hotel accommodations and/or RV camping with tickets for Blue Highway Fest 2024 will be made available to the eight finalists chosen to perform at Blue Highway Fest 2024.

If you are selected to perform at Blue Highway Fest 2024, you will receive further information regarding your performance time and other details.

Blue Highway Fest and Big Stone Gap, VA reserve the right to: (1) exclude any applicant from participation at any stage of the Blue Highway Fest 2024 “Rising Stars Challenge”; and, (2) make changes to the lineup, schedule, or any other part of Blue Highway Fest 2024 “Rising Stars Challenge” at any time.
